Drive along coast, visit to Cape Point Nature reserve, Cape of Good Hope, Penguin Colony at Boulders, drive over scenic Chapman’s peak and wine tasting in Constantia (oldest wine tasting region in South Africa)
Through Hout Bay over Chapman’s peak
On leaving V&A Waterfront we will drive along the scenic Atlantic seaboard through the fishing village of Hout Bay and over picturesque Chapman’s Peak. This will take us through Noordhoek Valley on route to Cape Point
Cape Point Lighthouse & Boulder Beach Penguins
At Cape Point we enjoy an invigorating walk or gentle ride up with the funicular to the lighthouse at the top. You will enjoy a magnificent view of False Bay to your left, the Hottentots Holland mountains straight ahead and a pristine beach welcoming the waves of the frigid Atlantic waters to your right.
Its truly an awesome sight….and on some days…you better hold onto your hats! The South Easters that caused this area to become known as the Cape of Storms can blow with gale force invigorating power.
We travel back through the Nature reserve along another beautiful coastal road to visit Boulders Beach where a naturalised colony of African Penguins have set up home.
The waiter like penguins are unphased by the human interest and the cleverly designed walkways and viewpoints afford great picture opportunities without disturbing their natural habitat. A varied day of exploration ends with a gentle drive back to your hotel in the Mother City.
Constantia wine tasting
An afternoon wine tasting in the oldest wine region in South Africa. We have a choice of a number of vineyards depending on your likes, eg particular wine types, views, ambience, etc. We can create the right experience taking all of the above into account, but guarantee an awesome wine tasting experience in the beautiful Constantia Valley, where even Napoleon, when in exile on St Helena Island, demanded his wines from 🙂
